LORA TUNNEL · 0.2.2-beta.1 · PUBLIC BETA

Follow the radio trail.

A standalone Wi-Fi, BLE and receive-only LoRa wardriver, with a separate passive Recon mode and local microSD logs. The supported target is the Heltec WiFi LoRa 32 Expansion Kit V2 / V4-R8, 915 MHz hardware, 16 MB flash and 8 MB PSRAM.

Current beta limits: GNSS sentences and satellite diagnostics are available, but a position fix has not been obtained in testing. Uploads and full Meshtastic payload decoding are not implemented. Physical buttons, extended capture reliability and complete storage-recovery tests remain pending.

Use desktop Chrome or Edge and a USB data cable. Confirm the exact kit and preserve stock firmware first. ESP32-S3 chip detection does not verify the display, expansion revision or radio band. Browser installation replaces firmware and can erase flash settings.

Your first session

  1. Prepare a FAT32 microSD card with the supplied lora-tunnel directory; copy config.example.json to config.json. Sample credentials are empty.
  2. Choose Wardriver or Recon, then start explicitly. Missing GPS remains missing in the local log.
  3. Use Stop + Save and wait for saving to finish before removing the card or powering off.
  4. Keep the original logs. WiGLE export needs fresh valid GPS and UTC; mesh export additionally needs decoded node data that this beta does not produce.

Original LORA Tunnel code is MIT licensed. Imported libraries retain their own licenses: Dragon Detector and inherited ESP32Marauder/Flock Noir notices, OpenDroneID, and the browser installer's ESP Web Tools dependencies. LoRaPipe, Kismet and Meshtastic are documented research references; this is independent firmware.
